Virgin Beach at Laiya, Batangas

We went to Virgin Beach at Laiya Batangas last April 26 for a summer getaway. We've been wanting to go to a beach this summer, since my baby always asks us to bring her to one saying she wanted to play in the sand. We finally got a chance that weekend. My baby hardly took a dip in the water, and just spent most of her time playing in the sand. :)

The place is nice. The beach and the surroundings are clean. There are lots of trees and plants around. The sand is not that fine though. It hurts a little when you walk barefooted. I know it's not Boracay, but I was hoping that the sand would come close even a little. It's definitely a good place to relax and unwind on a weekend. Besides, it's only a few hours drive from Manila.

The rooms were great as well. The bed and bathroom are neat. We stayed on a 2 double bed casita. It had a great view of the beach as well, with the sliding glass doors. I also enjoyed the veranda of the casita. You can just sit down and relax on the bamboo bench or hammock, and just stare at the beach.

We got the food package they have, which includes lunch, dinner and breakfast. At P1,100/head for adult, it was worth it. The portions were more than enough. They served salad, soup, main course, and desert for lunch and dinner. For breakfast they served fruits, main breakfast, and coffee/tea.

One drawback though is that the road towards the resort is a little rough and bumpy. I had to change a tire before taking off from the resort. Not sure if it's the road that caused it or something else. Fortunately, they are currently concreting most of the path and hopefully they can get it done soon.

Overall the service we got was great. It's definitely a place to check out or go back to if you are looking for some R&R. :)

driving and patience

Driving and keeping your patience is like water and oil. I can't mix the two together. Recently though, I tried to set my mind to keep my patience before I step out and drive. I'd say it's a little effective as I keep myself aware that those drivers are out there just to try and break me. You can try it yourself. It's a lot better than getting angry early in the morning on someone you don't even know, or whose face you haven't even seen.

Have a great day! :)

my DSLR camera - Canon EOS 400D

My wife gave me a digital SLR camera recently for my birthday. It's a Canon EOS 400D.

Its been a while since I've been looking at and researching on digital SLR cameras. She probably got tired of me looking at the same thing over and over which is probably why she decided to buy me one. :)

The pictures from my SLR cameras are a lot better than that of our Sony point and shoot compact cam. Their price don't differ much though. But then again, they have their own pros and cons. For one, the compact cam can be stowed away easily, though the pictures are not that fine. The SLR camera produces crisp and clear pics, but it's bulky and heavy. Another thing is that SLR cameras have a lot of things that you need to learn/understand, the point and shoot cam is as easy to understand as it can get.

I've been having fun using my new SLR camera. I need to do a lot of reading though in order to be maximize it's potential. Otherwise, it will just be a heavy and bulky point and shoot cam.

I'm also planning on buying accessories for my SLR cam. But most of them are pricey though. Hopefully I can buy one soon. Or perhaps I can just look at the accessories over and over, and probably wait on my next birthday. ;)

blogtime again!

Finally, I get to blog again after a while. Just got a DSL connection in our house recently. I couldn't blog the past few weeks since we haven't gotten our connection yet. Now the gates are open and I'm ready to go. :)
